Here at, we recognise and understand the importance of providing information which is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

Standards and guidelines

To make sure that we are accessible to a wide audience, we try to follow established web standards and accessibility guidelines. In particular we measure ourselves against the W3C Web Content Accessibilty Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, and aim to have all our pages meet or exceed level "A" compliance. Many of our pages meet levels "AA" and "AAA", and we are working on improving this wherever possible.

Our website uses valid HTML and cascading stylesheets (CSS), compliant with relevant standards. This allows us to separate the majority of presentational elements from our site content, making the site more accessible to visitors who use assistive technologies such as a screen reader or a text-only browser.

We recognise that there is no standard user and no standard device for browsing information, and therefore we have tried to make sure that the site works correctly when using a variety of different interfaces.

Given that most visitors to this website use graphical web browsers, all efforts have been made to ensure that the website displays correctly on these. In older, non-standards-compliant browsers (for example, Internet Explorer 6 and earlier) some parts of the site may not work as intended. If you use one of these browsers, we recommend upgrading to the most recent version or to a free, standards-compliant alternative.

We have made an effort to test with screen readers and other accessibility software, but given the wide variety of interfaces there may be problems that we have missed. If you find an error which is making it difficult to use our website, please use our Contact us form to let us know.

Whilst we try to follow accepted guidelines for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in every area of the site. Our Coverage Checker is currently available in a visual-only format, as is our Store Finder, due to the reliance of these tools on mapping software. If you require information from either of these tools, please contact us and we will be happy to provide it.

Tips for improving your experience

The majority of text on this website is 12 pixels high when displayed on a graphical web browser. If you find that this is too small, most modern browsers allow you to increase text size using a "Zoom" or "Text Size" option. The typical keyboard shortcut for increasing text size is Ctrl-+. The typical keyboard shortcut for returning text to its default size is Ctrl-0. Where possible this site has been designed to allow for the text size to be increased, though at very large text sizes certain elements of the site may not display as intended.

If you are having difficulty finding the page you're looking for, we provide a Sitemap page which links to every key page on our website, including all of our phones.

It is possible to navigate the site solely using the keyboard. However, our website does not presently include a visual indication of keyboard focus in most graphical web browsers. If you require this in order to browse, we recommend disabling style sheets and using your browser's default indication.

If there is anything here that you feel we have overlooked, or if you have a comment or suggestion, please get in touch with us using our Contact us form. We welcome your feedback, as it is the best way to help us improve the quality of our service.
